GHK-Cu is a naturally occurring tripeptide (glycine-histidine-lysine) that binds copper(II) ions; it was first identified in human plasma in the 1970s and has since been studied for roles in wound healing, collagen/gene expression modulation, and skin biology. It is one of the most extensively studied peptides in cosmetic and regenerative research, with decades of published literature.
